Stephen Plant

Regional Education & Training Manager, Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA)

On leaving school Stephen joined East Midlands Electricity Board as an electrical apprentice. He subsequently qualified as a JIB approved electrician and after some time 'on the tools' moved to Rolls -Royce and Associates as a senior electrical draughtsman working on design and procurement for nuclear submarines. Having gained an HNC in Electrical Engineering he moved into further education teaching apprentices, electricians and engineers.

 

Stephen was at Charles Keene College in Leicester for 20 years, of which he spent 10 as Head of an Electrical Installation Department. He joined the Electrical Contractors Association in 2000 where he is currently employed as a Regional Education and Training Manager. Stephen has extensive knowledge of the electrical contracting industry and is delivering presentations nationally on BS 7671: 17th Edition IEE wiring Regulations.
