3E Effective resident participation in procurement

Conducting a consultation with the local community, especially the younger generations, is a vital aspect of the process in the procurement and management of contracts for social housing. The practicalities of engaging residents and providing them with the information they need to contribute to decision making requires creative approaches to:

Discover what the local residents need

Ensure that it is not simply a 'box-ticking' exercise

Create a design as a result of the consultation findings

Fulfill the identified 'need' with a successful and sustainable result

This session considers effective resident participation in the procurement of maintenance contracts, new play areas and cyclical decoration.
