Proactive invasive-weed management is vital. While Housing Associations (HAs) manage a large landscape, no doubt with limited funds, weeds such as Japanese knotweed can wreak havoc with budgets if left untended. From this year, anyone selling property has to declare the presence of knotweed if found on, or near, their property. As a result, leading specialists PBA Solutions have increasingly seen cases with significant legal and financial consequences being brought against HAs, normally where knotweed has not been managed and has spread onto the claimant's property. Importantly, this can be prevented by HAs taking proactive, cost-effective control and remediation.
