Conference Workshop 3a

Wednesday 22 January 2014 11.00

3A All you need to know about the new EU procurement Directive and the changes to the TUPE rules

The new EU procurement Directive will make significant changes to procurement practice. With the Cabinet Office proposing "fast track" implementation, the UK Regulations could be passed by the end of 2014. The main changes will include:

  • significant reductions in the ability to check a proposed contractor's financial position or technical skills;
  • new rules on contract variations;
  • dividing contracts into lots;
  • greater capacity to consider social and environmental issues; and
  • the early on-line availability of procurement and contract documents.

Come and hear about the main changes from a leading EU procurement legal specialist and author of the NHF Guide to the EU Procurement Rules.

The session will also cover the procurement implications of the changes to TUPE being made in January 2014.
