Awards for best practice in maintenance

Best practice awards 2011

Entering for the awards is a great way of focusing attention on what you do best. It is good for the morale of your maintenance teams, and promotes the work of your organisation.

Nominations for the 2011 awards are now open. The NHMF will be presenting four awards:

• Best Client: the client organisation that was best at meeting resident's needs in the provision of a maintenance service
• Best DLO: the direct labour organisation providing the most innovative maintenance service
• Best Contract: the best managed external contract for maintenance
• Best use of IT: The best use of information technology for maintenance

To enter you must complete a nomination form by midday on Friday 22nd October 2010, and an application form by Friday 26th November 2010. The shortlist will be announced on 7th January 2011, and the awards will be presented at the NHMF Conference dinner on Tuesday 25th January 2011.

See questions to be addressed for guidance on what the judges are looking for. Maintenance can include major repair and improvements as well as day to day repairs and the provision of cyclical services. Relevant services can include anything relevant to the maintenance service, including the way it is managed and delivered, and the tools and information systems used.
