Richard joined Ofgem in 2010 in the Eserve division of the business that oversaw administration of government green schemes. He worked on the Renewables Obligation and the Feed-in-Tariff and spent much of that time in compliance roles as well as a stint dealing with applications for support from fuelled generating stations. In 2018 Richard moved to the regulatory side of Ofgem and to take on the Head of Retail Compliance role and in 2021 he took on a secondment at the Heat Trust. Richard returned to Ofgem in September 2022 to the role of Head of Heat Networks Implementation.
