John is a solicitor in Trowers & Hamlins' Projects and Construction department which he joined in 2005. He qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor in New Zealand in 1999 and spent two years in private practice specialising in commercial contracts and property law. Before joining Trowers & Hamlins, John worked in the legal services team at Southwark Council, where he focused on commercial contracts and local authority procurement law.

John specialises in advising commercial clients and local government bodies on non-contentious construction law.  He negotiates and drafts building and engineering contracts and professional appointments, and has particular experience of the PPC2000 and TPC2005 partnering contracts in relation to social housing projects. He also advises on leaseholder consultation and EU procurement law. John, along with his colleagues David Mosey and Katie Saunders, form the National Change Agent for Social Housing team in partnership with Davis Langdon.
