Arnout Andrews

Arnout  Andrews has worked in the energy field for ten years. His experience is mainly related to domestic energy efficiency, with a strong focus on managed housing. After attaining a First class degree in Environmental Studies, Arnout worked for NEA (the national energy action charity), an organisation which champions investment in fuel poverty programmes. He was a partner in an energy efficiency company before working for an insulation company in which ESD had the majority share. Arnout spent two years working on developing ESD’s internal systems and project management.

Over the last four years Arnout’s work has been dominated by projects with the managed housing sector.  This work has included large scale projects for the Housing Corporation and the EST, these projects have largely been designed to assist RSLs in delivering sustainable energy projects. Alongside these large projects there have been many (typically smaller) projects working with individual RSLs. This work has ranged from awareness-raising to handholding & implementation, and has covered measures from insulation to renewables.  These projects have helped RSLs to access millions of funding for energy projects.  Much of this has been for ‘core’ measures (like cavity wall Insulation), but there have also been a significant number of pioneering projects with renewable energy technologies.
