John Forde

Trowers & Hamlins

John is a solicitor in Trowers & Hamlins' Projects and Construction department which he joined in 2005. John qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor in New Zealand in 1999 and spent two years in private practice specialising in commercial contracts and property law.  John has worked in the UK since 2003 and was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in May 2007. Before joining Trowers & Hamlins, John worked in the legal services team at Southwark Council, where he specialised in commercial contracts and local authority procurement law.

John specialises in advising commercial clients and local government bodies on non-contentious construction law.  He negotiates and drafts building and engineering contracts and professional appointments.  He advises on partnering agreements in relation to social housing projects and advises on public sector procurement and EU procurement law.

John is an accredited member of the Association of Partnering Advisers.

He has written articles on topics including procurement law, the JCT 2005 suite of contracts, and the ACA Standard Form of Term Partnering Contract TPC2005.
