Professor Richard Tomlins

Cohesia Ltd and Visiting Professor of Race and Diversity Coventry University

Richard left the role of Professor of Race, Diversity and Housing at De Montfort University after 13 years to set up Cohesia Ltd in 2005 as a community research, consultancy and training organisation specialising in equality, diversity and related issues in the workplace and in service delivery.

Cohesia’s primary aims are to help government, private, public and voluntary sector organisations to achieve excellence in employment and service delivery through:

  • Working in partnership with diverse populations
  • Reviewing and targeting existing policies, practices and procedures more effectively
  • Achieving social gain through their procurement policies and
  • Building cohesive communities.

In addition Richard works directly with communities to achieve a higher profile for their needs and their skills. He has been involved in policy development with the Home Office and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).

He is now also Visiting Professor of Race and Diversity at Coventry University.
