Rod Sellers

Chairman of the Seddon Group

Rod was appointed Chairman of the Seddon Group in 2006, where his major task is to oversee the transfer of executive responsibilities from the 3rd  to the 4th generation of this NW based 110 year old family owned and run construction and maintenance business. He is also charged with developing the Group's construction waste recycling business.

After graduating in economics and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Rod spent 26 years with British Vita Plc, a £1 billion turnover international foam, fibre and polymer processing group, as Financial Director and then Chief Executive. He retired 10 years ago to take up a series of non executive appointments with public and private companies mainly in the NW, including periods with James R Knowles and Ultraframe in the construction sector, and has recently joined a start up company which will manufacture sheeps wool insulation. He has served on several professional, industrial and regional bodies in the NW including chairing the business legacy initiative for Manchester's 2002 Commonwealth Games. In 2005, he was awarded the OBE "For Services to Business in the North West".
