Setting the standard for maintaining assets

Workshop 2f - Tuesday 14:00

Energy performance certification

By Autumn 2008 an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) will need to be available every time a property is let, sold or constructed.  This session is intended to help managed housing providers understand what this means for them – and how they can begin to prepare for the challenge of EPCs.

The session will explain the basic background (what the EPBD is what the EPC is), it will highlight what RSLs need to do and when.  It will pick out the key issues for RSLs with regard to EPCs.  It will explain the key options and choices for RSLs in terms of how to deliver energy performance certificates – this will include some indications of the pros and cons (& costs) for different approaches.  The session will also include some direct RSL experience from the EPC pilot programme.
