From OJEU to contract - procuring the contract and contractor you want

This workshop will focus on how to ensure your procurement sets the framework for effective contract management.  It will tackle a number of practical procurement issues including:

• setting minimum prequalification standards so as not to exclude good contractors;
• how to select the contractors you want to tender;
• increasing your chances of getting high-quality competitive bids;
• avoiding post tender surprises from your chosen contractor;
• using the contract award criteria to define value for money;
• minimising the risk of challenges through giving clear and objective feedback.

Dealing with issues during the procurement is essential if a contract is to start on a sound footing. It is also a requirement of the EU procurement rules. These rules are flexible enough to allow you to choose the contractor offering the best value for money, but you need to understand them in order to do this. The session will be interactive. As well as Andrew giving practical advice, delegates will have the opportunity to bring their own scenarios and participate in group discussions.
