Retrofitting for the future

With the likelihood that 4 out of 5 social housing properties still being in use by 2050, the challenge to progressively achieve an 80% reduction in carbon emissions is daunting. Conservative estimates put the cost of retrofitting the 4 million existing homes at around £100Bn.

Delivering these measures cost effectively remains at the heart of good asset management where professionals will need to consider how they can manage the necessary transition to a low carbon strategy and progressively achieve lower emission targets using varied and imaginative means.
