Colin began his career in 1983 as a trainee quantity surveyor with Fife Council. He then moved on to Gateshead Council for eight years as Principal Quantity Surveyor working on a mixture of public buildings and social housing projects. In 2007 Colin joined Derwentside Homes as Procurement and Partnering Manager delivering a five year, £117m stock investment programme.

As Head of Property Services at Livin from 2010, Colin is responsible for delivering effective asset management to 8,500 homes, 2,666 garages, 43 shops and 3 offices and a new headquarters located in Durham. One of his main responsibilities includes delivering an effective, value for money repairs and maintenance service.
