Christopher Hall is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, and Professor Emeritus at Edinburgh University, where he was previously Professor of Materials. He has long experience in using materials in civil, construction and oilfield engineering. He is the author of many scientific papers on materials engineering, and several books, including one on polymer materials, and the recent title Materials: A Very Short Introduction.
