Conference Workshop 3e

3E Making properties and estates resilient to flood risk and water availability in a changing climate

Flood risk and water availability are already challenges for many housing estates. We expect these challenges to intensify in the future as a consequence of climate change. Maintenance and refurbishment of properties and estates presents valuable opportunities to adapt to a changing climate, making properties more resilient and improving the quality of life for residents. This workshop will:

  • provide tools to help identify if housing stock is in an area of flood risk,
  • describe water stressed areas, its link with metering and implications for housing stock,
  • explore the measures that can be taken as part of housing maintenance and refurbishment to adapt to these challenges.
