NHMF Working Groups: Working for the sector
For many years, The National Housing Maintenance Forum has been the leading UK body focused on promoting best practices in social housing maintenance and asset management, particularly within the social housing sector.

It serves as a centre of excellence for its maintenance professional members, championing innovation, hosting conferences and forums, and offering training and publications to share knowledge and drive sector-wide improvements to property performance.
During this time, many specialist groups, like the NHMF Service Provider Forum and solutions, like NHMF Frameworx procurement provider, have been added to the line-up. Many of these achievements have been driven behind the scenes by the people involved in the NHMF and over coming months, we’re going to share the fantastic work that is being done by the 7 NHMF Working Groups, asking for more collaboration, sharing best practice and research and innovation.
Neil Watts, Chair of the NHMF Management Committee, comments: “The NHMF Working Groups have been put together to focus on the challenges and common themes across the social housing sector, including Healthy Homes, Procurement, Building Safety and Fire Safety, Net Zero, Training, Skills & Culture, Technology. Alongside the Working Groups and to further support this work, we’ve established some amazing partnerships with Healthy Homes Hub, Oxford Brookes University and CIH Futures to name but a few. These collaborations bring specialist knowledge and resources that will really impact our mission.
“Our aim is to be a leading voice and the go-to partner that brings workable best practices, shares access to the latest innovations and drives the sector forward to meet the challenges of the day.
“There’s been some remarkable work across the Working Groups recently, and I’m looking forward to sharing more updates and launching new initiatives going forward. A big thank you to all the committee members for giving up their time to be part of the committee and Working Groups and helping to drive change in our sector.”
We’re called Working Groups because that’s precisely what we’re doing – working, not just talking and meeting. If you’d like to join us working on behalf of creating a better social housing landscape by becoming a member of this Healthy Homes Working Group or the 5 other areas our Working Groups cover; Procurement, Building and Fire Safety, Net Zero, Technology, Training, Skills & Culture please contact: felicity.newman@aster.co.uk
