The Study Tour 2014, Thursday 16 until Friday 17 October 2014, took place in Cardiff, Wales. During Thursday, based at the Millennium Stadium, we discussed what level of strategic asset management skills and understanding is required to make effective asset management and investment decisions at a Board level within housing providers. We also explored particular challenges faced by housing providers in Wales. On Friday we visited the Rockwool factory where we had a tour of the production facilities and a talk incorporating a broad understanding of each of the following areas:

• Energy Efficiency in social housing
• Rockshell walling system (new build solution for affordable homes meeting CFSH levels)
• EWI technical brief
• High Rise Hope
• Regional attitudes to social, economic and energy savings strategies (ECO/ARBED)
