Josephine is an experienced housing lawyer who handles issues such as anti-social behaviour, injunctions, possession, breaches of tenancy, rent arrears, housing disrepair, leasehold management (including lease interpretation), breaches of leases and service charge collection as well as data protection matters. She is particularly experienced in acting for organisations in the social housing sector and also acts for a wide range of clients from private landlords and small housing co-operatives to national Registered Providers throughout the North West. Josephine has a strong background in contentious housing matters and previously worked at specialist social housing firm Bremners (where she completed her training contract) before the firm merged with Brabners in 2009. She is classed as both a ‘Recommended Lawyer’ and ‘Leading Individual’ by The Legal 500 which praises Josephine for her “excellent reputation for high-quality, realistic advice and high-quality case preparation”. Josephine joined Brabners in 2009 and became a partner in 2019. She is based in the Liverpool office.
